Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Allameh Helli Festival, held at Imam Ja'far Sadeq School in Zahedan, the representative of the Iranian Leader in Sistan-Baluchistan Province referred to the growing trend of seminary activities in the province and praised the efforts of professors, administrators, and those involved in these institutions. He stated that the reports presented are encouraging, but there is still a long way to go before reaching the deserved and proper status, and many unfinished tasks lie ahead.
Emphasizing the need to use existing capacities, he added that the progress achieved should provide the ground for greater hope and effort. A seminary student must believe in their own ability to advance, and professors must strive to guide and train them academically. He also noted that academic rigor and continuous correction of research works can lead to improving the quality of students' work.
Mohammadi considered the practicality of seminary research and attention to the real needs of society essential, stating that the time of professors and students is valuable; therefore, research must lead to solving problems, meeting needs, and answering real issues. Research from which the author and others do not benefit will not achieve the expected goal, and thus the precise selection of research topics is of great importance.
Referring to the emphases of the martyred Imam [Khamenei] regarding the missions of religious seminaries, the representative of the Leader in Sistan-Baluchistan stated that the seminary must operate as a scientific center with specific specializations, train capable and refined forces, provide the ground for their effective presence in social arenas and the fight against arrogance, and play a role in deriving systems from religious foundations and shaping the new Islamic civilization.
He considered the examination of the extent to which these missions have been realized to be among the important topics of seminary research, and added that the performance of the province's seminaries and various schools must be evaluated in terms of the academic level of students, familiarity with Islamic teachings, commitment and ethics, presence in social arenas, and readiness to fulfill responsibilities.
Mohammadi continued that identifying the strengths and weaknesses of seminaries, examining the reasons for shortcomings, and providing practical solutions to address them is necessary. Merely stating that seminaries are growing is not enough; rather, the existing capacities, unfinished measures, and ways to reach the desired situation must be specified.
Emphasizing the necessity of continuous performance evaluation, he stated that just as every individual must reckon their own performance, scientific institutions also need collective evaluation so that shortcomings are identified and appropriate solutions for improving activities are offered.
The representative of the Leader in Sistan-Baluchistan called on officials, administrators, professors, and students to cooperate in conducting comprehensive research on the performance of the province's seminaries and the extent to which seminary missions have been realized, pursuing this in line with the guidelines of the martyred Imam.
Referring to the importance of the martyred Imam's message about religious seminaries, he noted that this message is the result of reflection, experience, and considerable time spent, and its contents must be examined through scientific and research sessions, with planning based on an assessment of the current situation to strengthen strengths and address weaknesses.
In another part of his remarks, Mohammadi considered comparative research important, especially in Sistan-Baluchistan Province with its Shia and Sunni populations, stating that comparing Shia and Sunni viewpoints broadens the researcher's perspective and increases the audience and impact of scientific works.
He added that a researcher must, while explaining and scientifically defending their own viewpoint, also examine the views of others and clarify the preferred view with clear argumentation. This approach helps in more precise understanding of issues and in clarifying points of commonality and difference among viewpoints.
In conclusion, the representative of Iran’s Leader in Sistan-Baluchistan emphasized precise planning in scientific and research activities, stating that a seminary student must, alongside studying and reviewing coursework, plan for research and other duties and make the best use of their time and abilities.
